Admittedly, I do get super excited when a filmmaker with such an offbeat taste like Yorgos Lanthimos gets the budget and resources to make a film that looks like The Favourite did. It was exactly what I expected it to be. What did I expect it to be? An absurdly complex narrative set in a fairly accessible and familiar setting with each scene shattering my expectation of how it should have been written and presented.Read More
The film is a warm hug.
I didn't grow up with Mr. Rogers, hell I didn't even know who he was until I watched this film. And I am so glad I did. I think everybody owes it to themselves to take a break and watch these 90 minutes filled with positivity and hope, something we all desperately need in today's time.

"Queen is no one thing." The band pushes on, in various different words throughout the film.
What should have been the strength of the film ends up being a curse, stuck in a formulaic screenplay. The narrative suffocates, literally waiting to break free. It only shows us glimmers and constantly fails to stick to the stories it wants to tell.
How can two people be so good for each other but just terrible for their own selves. Etching happiness and pain, falling into a vicious cycle of their ideas of each other. It's as warming as toxic, and the incredible songs just catalyse your vulnerability and a feeling of hopelessness as you watch on.Read More
First Man has the most intense and realistic space flight scenes that I've ever experienced.
This is why I love films? They have the power to put you in a place you might never be in, in this case...the precious shoes of Neil Armstrong.
